Our caring staff is here to provide all the information and guidance you need, helping you take an active role in your recovery. Feel free to ask us any questions about your next steps or the best options for your care.

For Surgical Patients

Please plan to arrive at least one hour before your scheduled procedure time.

Your referring physician will provide any pre-surgery instructions at least two days prior to your procedure. These may include special washing instructions the night before or other preparations for the day of your surgery.

It’s important to follow all instructions carefully, as not doing so may result in your procedure being rescheduled.

For Lab and Imaging Patients

Arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment time. If you’re a walk-in, please check if pre-certification is required for your test.

Your physician will inform you of any special preparations or dietary instructions the day before or the day of your appointment.

Please be sure to follow all instructions closely to avoid the need for rescheduling.

Pre- and Post-Op: What to Expect

Pre-Op

Here’s what to expect in the days leading up to your procedure, as well as on the day of:

  • Before your procedure, a representative of AMMC will call to confirm your appointment time and take note of your current medications, allergies and any medical conditions.
  • One of our nurses will let you know what time you should stop eating and drinking before your procedure. Keep in mind that failure to comply with these instructions may result in your procedure being rescheduled.
  • If you currently take any prescription or over-the-counter medications, check with your physician on whether you should take them the day of surgery.
  • Be mindful of your health the week before your surgery. If you note any changes, such as a fever, cold or other ailments, let your physician know right away, as your procedure may need to be rescheduled.
