Though our physicians practice in a number of unique specialties, they are all united in their mission to deliver uncompromising care and quality outcomes in a setting that is both affordable and accessible. In addition to providing dedicated services at Aspen Mountain Medical Center, each of our physicians will continue to serve a broader audience from their respective practices in Wyoming and Colorado.

Darin W. Allred, M.D.

Orthopedic Surgeon

Dr. Allred was born in Utah but grew up in a small town in South East Texas. He left to start his training which took him all across the country. The first 15 years of his career were spent in Denver Colorado where he had a very busy practice and spent time teaching and training surgeons from across the world at conferences. Despite his success in Colorado, Dr. Allred recently moved back to his home state of Utah and is practicing medicine in Nevada and Wyoming.

Dr. Allred attended medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center. He completed his residency at the University of Oklahoma and his fellowship at San Diego Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine.

Dr. Allred lives with his wife and the younger of 5 children. They enjoy mountain biking, skiing, and watching rodeos.

Richard A. Anderson

Physician Assistant

Richard A. Anderson, P.A., has delivered quality family practice and urgent care in southwest Wyoming for nearly 30 years. After a decade as an emergency medical technician, he completed the MEDEX-PA program at the University of Washington School of Medicine in 1996, and went on to work with the David Burnett Family Practice in Big Piney. In 2005, Anderson joined Red Desert Insta-Care, where he continues to deliver emergency and family care to the Rock Springs region.

Jared Breck Barton, M.D.

General Surgeon

Jared Breck Barton, M.D., is a general surgeon focused not only on providing quality care to his patients but also on affecting change in the U.S. healthcare system. He holds a Master of Public Health degree from the Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice and is currently based at Uinta General Surgery in Evanston. Licensed in Wyoming, Idaho and New Hampshire, Dr. Barton is a member of the American College of Surgeons and also the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons.

Justin Dazley, M.D.

Spinal Surgeon

Justin Dazley, M.D. specializes in spinal surgery. He has special interest in diseases and conditions of the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine due to deformity, trauma, and degenerative causes. Dr. Dazley completed his spinal surgery fellowship at Harvard University-Massachusetts General Hospital/Brigham and Women’s Hospital.

Clint Devin, M.D.

Orthopedic Spine Surgeon

Dr. Devin is returning home to the Rocky Mountains and is excited to offer high level specialized spine care to this community. Over the last decade, Dr. Devin has worked as an associate professor of orthopaedic surgery and neurosurgery at Vanderbilt University caring for all levels of complexity and performing over 4500 spine surgeries. Dr. Devin’s philosophy is to provide the least invasive treatment approach possible that will be durable and allow patients to return to their passions in life. He and his team maximize conservative intervention through therapy, yoga, and injections before resorting to surgery. As a Wyoming native, he fully understands life is about enjoying the outdoors with full mobility and without limitations from Pain. Dr. Devin is a proud partner at Orthopaedics of Steamboat Springs.

Terry Donaldson, M.D.

Internal Medicine

Terry Donaldson, M.D., is a Wyoming native whose medical career began in the coal mines of Gillette, where he was part of the onsite rescue team. After leaving the coal mine at age 30, Dr. Donaldson completed school at the University of Wyoming and Creighton Medical School, specializing in internal medicine. Upon returning to his home state, Dr. Donaldson established his own integrated clinical practice in 2012 and has since been faithfully serving the residents of Wyoming and Sweetwater County.

Henry Fabian, M.D.

Orthopaedic Surgeon (Spine)

Henry F. Fabian, Jr., M.D., the Director of Rural Spine and Wyoming Spine Institute, brings over 20 years of spine surgery experience to his clinics. He has been a leader in the development of minimally invasive spinal implants and surgical techniques and has addressed both international and national spine surgery meetings. Dr. Fabian is passionate about using the best practices and evidence-based medicine to assure the best possible treatment outcome. He is a multiple-time winner of the Patient’s Choice Award. Dr. Fabian has treated many professional athletes and served as team physician for professional sports teams and is currently a US Ski Team doctor.

Jason P. Haack, M.D.

Otolaryngologist

Jason P. Haack, M.D., specializes in otolaryngology, better known as ENT (ear, nose and throat) and has been practicing at Southwest Wyoming ENT since 2008. After completing medical school at the University of Washington, Dr. Haack went on to complete his residency at Mayo Clinic and fellowship at Johns Hopkins. He is a current member of seven unique medical societies, including the American Academy of Otolaryngology (Head and Neck Surgery) and American Medical Association.

Kurt L. Hunter, M.D.

Family Practitioner

Kurt L. Hunter, M.D., has been a Wyoming resident for more than 30 years and a trusted local physician for nearly 20. He earned his medical degree from Creighton University Medical School in Omaha before returning home to complete his family practice residency at the University of Wyoming. Since August 2000, Dr. Hunter has served as a family practice physician at Hunter Family Medical Clinic, where he is also president and CEO, and as the assistant medical director for Hospice of Sweetwater County.

Raoul Joubran, M.D.

Gastroenterology

Raoul Joubran, M.D., brings not only extensive experience in diagnosing and treating conditions related to the digestive system, but also almost 20 years as a facility leader and director. After completing medical residencies in 1997, Dr. Joubran went on to complete many years of specialized training, focusing on advanced diagnostic and treatment procedures. With a Master of Science in business administration, Dr. Joubran now serves as the director for Gastroenterology Associates (Casper, WY), president and CEO of Center for Surgical Excellence (Gillette, WY) and president of Sweetwater Surgery Center (Rock Springs, WY).

Kaare Kolstad, M.D.

Orthopedic Surgeon

Board certified orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Kaare Kolstad was born and raised in Connecticut. He attended Yale University for his undergrad and the University of Connecticut for medical school degree. Afterward, Dr. Kolstad attended Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia for his residency in orthopedic surgery and Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine for his fellowship in orthopedic sports medicine. After his fellowship, Dr. Kolstad moved to Texas where he led an orthopedic team at Baylor College of Medicine & Houston Methodist Hospital for 10+ years. Dr. Kolstad now lives in Colorado where he can enjoy the great outdoors with his wife and son.

Dr. Kolstad is well trained to manage all aspects of Orthopedic care including joint replacement, sports, and trauma. He has a strong patient-centered background and his care philosophy is “I believe in treating the whole person rather than a single illness or injury. With a focus on compassionate care, an emphasis on quality and access to the best tools and technology, I always strive to provide a patient-centered approach to health and healing for every patient.”

Eric F. Meyer, M.D.

Anesthesiology

A skilled anesthetist with an adventurous streak and a desire to always give back, Eric Meyer, M.D., spent 20 years as part of the active medical staff at Yampa Valley Medical Center and is also the co-founder and director of anesthesia and perioperative services for Rural Partners in Medicine, LLC. Throughout his career, Dr. Meyer has served as a volunteer anesthetist for 16 international missions with Operation Smile. He has been the expedition physician during four treks to Mt. Everest, and was a medical volunteer to Haiti following the 2010 earthquake.

Daniel Pedersen

Physician Assistant

Rock Springs native Daniel Pedersen, P.A., began his medical career with undergraduate studies in kinesiology at the University of Wyoming, and continued on to the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, where he received a Master of Physician Assistant Studies. In 2008, Pederson joined the clinical staff at Hunter Family Medical Clinic and has since become one of the community’s trusted providers for quality family practice care, helping every patient make healthy choices and achieve optimal health.

Physician Assistant

After securing his Bachelor of Science in dietetics from the University of Maryland, Dylan Powell, P.A., went on to earn a Master of Medical Science, focusing on physician assistant studies, from Midwestern University, Glendale. Powell then spent a year working with pediatric patients as an endocrinology physician assistant at Arizona Pediatric Endocrinology in Phoenix. Since 2008 he has provided a broad range of healthcare services to the patients of Hunter Family Medical Clinic and also become a certified medical examiner for the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.

Jonathan R. Said

Physician Assistant

As a trusted practitioner at Red Desert Insta-Care, Jonathan R. Said, P.A., has been delivering family practice and urgent care services in Rock Springs for more than a decade. He earned an Associate of Science in pre-med studies from Casper Community College before successfully completing the MEDEX-PA program at the University of Washington School of Medicine. In addition to his ongoing role at Red Desert Insta-Care, Said also serves as an adjunct professor at Western Wyoming Community College.

Andreas S. Sauerbrey, M.D.

Orthopaedic Surgeon

It’s no surprise that this former physician to the U.S. Freestyle Ski Team holds specialty training in conditions affecting the upper extremities as well as specialty certification in sports medicine. After completing medical school at Oregon Health Sciences University, Andreas Sauerbrey, M.D., went on to complete fellowships at Philadelphia Hand Center (Thomas Jefferson University) and the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Sauerbrey has been with Orthopaedics of Steamboat Springs since 2001 and is a current member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Association of Hand Surgery.

Michael S. Sisk, M.D.

Orthopaedic Surgeon

As a high altitude climber and professional bronc rider, Dr. Michael Sisk has seen and endured many orthopaedic injuries. These experiences led to Dr. Sisk’s interest in orthopaedic medicine and, specifically, the treatment of sports injuries and joint conditions. After completing his medical degree and residency at the University of Colorado, Dr. Sisk joined Orthopaedics of Steamboat Springs in 1999, where he continues to practice; he is also a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and physician to the US Ski Team.

Family Practitioner

For nearly 30 years, Darcy Turner, M.D., has served communities throughout Colorado and Wyoming, delivering quality care as a family practitioner, medical director and consultant. Today, he provides for a broad patient population as an owner and family physician at Red Desert Insta-Care, medical director of Sublette Center Nursing Home, and contract physician to Sublette County Correctional Facility. He is a member of the Wyoming chapter of the American Academy of Family Practice and the Wyoming Medical Society, and is also board certified through the American Academy of Family Practice.
