Aspen Mountain Medical Center Announces new Chief Nursing Officer
Aspen Mountain Medical Center is excited to announce the promotion of Kelli Yancey, MSN, RN, into the Chief Nursing Officer role. Kelli brings a wealth of clinical experience, leadership, and a passion for quality care to her new role. Originally from a small town outside of Amarillo, Texas, Kelli’s journey in healthcare began with a desire to help others—a mission that continues to guide her today.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from West Texas A&M University and began her nursing career at University Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas emergency room, where she spent a year and a half learning to think quickly under pressure, manage critical situations with composure, and provide compassionate care to patients in their most vulnerable moments. She then transitioned into an endoscopy unit at a Level 1 trauma center where she served as a charge nurse for five years, leading a 7-bed GI suite unit with skill and dedication. She also spent time working in a PACU and Pre-Op, gaining valuable experience with PICC line placements.
Kelli moved to Rock Springs four years ago and quickly became an integral member of the Pre-Op and PACU teams at Aspen. Over the course of her tenure, she has taken on increasing responsibilities, including oversight of Risk Management, Compliance, Quality Management, Grievances, and Nursing Informatics. Kelli also recently earned her Master’s degree in Nursing Informatics from Walden University, where she cultivated a strong passion for data-driven decision-making and a commitment to continuous quality improvement.
Now, as CNO, Kelli will oversee Quality, Risk, Compliance, Informatics, Nursing, Radiology, Laboratory, and Pharmacy. She is committed to using full-spectrum data from the EMR to drive meaningful improvements and operational efficiencies. “I’m excited to continue improvement initiatives and help shape the best culture possible,” Yancey says. “It’s all about increasing our services and ensuring we provide the best care for our community.“
What makes Aspen special to her? “The people,” Yancey says. “We have incredible teams here. Everyone collaborates, supports one another, and it truly feels like family.”
“Kelli has consistently demonstrated exceptional clinical expertise, a deep commitment to patient safety, and dedication to quality improvements,” said Melissa Anderson, CEO of Aspen Mountain Medical Center. “Her promotion is a reflection of her hard work, dedication, and the trust she’s earned from her colleagues across the organization. We’re excited to see her continue to drive innovation and excellence in her new role.“
