Dr. Horner, Pain Management Specialist, Now Seeing Patients at Aspen Mountain Medical Center
ROCK SPRINGS, WY — Living with chronic pain can make even the simplest daily activities difficult. Aspen Mountain Medical Center is helping patients find relief through comprehensive pain management services provided by board-certified physician Dr. Michael Horner, D.O.
Dr. Horner specializes in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Interventional Pain Management, and Electrodiagnostic Medicine, offering a non-surgical, patient-centered approach designed to reduce pain, improve function, and help patients return to the activities they enjoy most.
“Pain is often complex, and successful treatment starts with understanding the source,” said Dr. Horner. “My goal is to identify the underlying cause of a patient’s pain and develop a personalized treatment plan that helps restore mobility and improve quality of life.”
Patients experiencing persistent pain may benefit from a referral to pain management for conditions including:
- Neck and back pain
- Herniated or bulging discs
- Sciatica and nerve pain
- Arthritis and degenerative joint disease
- Shoulder, hip, knee, and other joint pain
- Sports-related and overuse injuries
- Tendon and ligament injuries
- Nerve compression disorders, including carpal tunnel syndrome and peripheral neuropathy
Dr. Horner’s advanced training allows him to diagnose and treat a wide range of musculoskeletal and nerve-related conditions using evidence-based, minimally invasive techniques. His expertise includes electrodiagnostic medicine (EMG/NCS), interventional pain procedures, and specialized ultrasound-guided interventions that can improve diagnostic accuracy and treatment precision.
Originally earning his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Pennsylvania State University, Dr. Horner completed his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He went on to complete his Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation residency at Michigan State University’s Sparrow Hospital, serving as Chief Resident during his final year before pursuing advanced fellowship training in Electrodiagnostic Medicine, Interventional Pain Management, and interventional ultrasound procedures.
Aspen Mountain Medical Center continues to expand specialty care close to home, providing Sweetwater County residents with access to nationally trained physicians without the need to travel outside the region.
Patients interested in learning more about pain management services should speak with their primary care provider about whether a referral is appropriate.
