Aspen Mountain Medical Center Welcomes new Foot and Ankle Specialist, Dr. Murken

ROCK SPRINGS — Aspen Mountain Medical Center is expanding its orthopedic services with the addition of Dr. Roger E. Murken, a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with advanced fellowship training in foot and ankle surgery.

Dr. Murken brings specialized foot and ankle care to Rock Springs, giving patients throughout southwest Wyoming another opportunity to receive specialized advanced orthopedic care closer to home.

“We’re excited to welcome Dr. Murken and expand the orthopedic resources available here at Aspen,” said Kelli Yancey, Chief Nursing Officer. “His specialized training in foot and ankle surgery compliments the excellent care already provided by our orthopedic surgeons and podiatrists.”

Dr. Murken specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of both common and complex foot and ankle conditions, including ankle arthritis, sports-related injuries, traumatic fractures, Achilles tendon injuries, ligament instability, bunions, hammertoes and flatfoot deformities.

His surgical expertise includes total ankle replacement, traumatic fractures, complex reconstruction for advanced foot and ankle injuries, Achilles tendon repair, cartilage restoration procedures and minimally invasive techniques. He also has extensive experience with bunion correction including the Lapiplasty system.

“My goal is to bring specialized, high-quality foot and ankle care so that an injury, a condition, or chronic pain doesn’t keep you from doing the things you enjoy,” said Dr. Murken, MD.
