Gastroenterologist

Dr. Cooper received his medical degree from Cebu Doctors’ University College of Medicine in the Philippines in 2009. He completed his internal medicine residency at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center from 2012-2015 after doing a one-year general surgery residency. He completed his gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Kentucky from 2015-2018, where he was also chief fellow. Dr. Cooper subsequently pursued an additional one-year advanced therapeutic endoscopic fellowship training at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine, in affiliation with Tufts University.

Dr. Cooper is a gastroenterology and advanced endoscopist with specialized expertise in pancreatic and biliary diseases. In addition to general endoscopy procedures, he also performs a full range of advanced endoscopic procedures such as endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), cholangioscopy, pancreatoscopy, ampullectomy, electrohydraulic lithotripsy, endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) with or without fine needle aspiration and biopsy (FNA/FNB), celiac plexus block, pancreatic pseudocyst drainage, Barrett’s esophagus treatment with radio frequency ablation (RFA), endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR), enteral luminal stents and colonic polypectomy with EMR.
