Preparing for Your Mammogram

  • No physician’s order is required for screening mammograms, but you will need to designate a provider for follow-up care.
  • We recommend avoiding deodorant, lotion, or powder on your underarms or chest on the day of your exam, as these can interfere with imaging.
  • If you have dense breasts or a history of breast cancer, let your technologist know, as additional imaging may be recommended.
